The highlight of the Irish National Hunt racing season has arrived. The Irish Cheltenham , Punchestown festival. This is where the British raiders actually come to our shores to do battle. Many of the clashes at the Cheltenham festival will be relived here over the 5 days. The seems to be playing fairly,for once.

Tom's Newmarket selections

1.45 Emirati Spirit 8/1 e/w  - superbly bred newcomer. Will have a lot on here with the former of the Gosden team but his own trainer/jockey have been in great for to and is the selection at the prices.

2.20 Flyball 5/2 - closely matched with Harry Hurricane on previous run and now has to give weight to that rival. Flyball is one of my 2yrs old to follow and I think with Ryan Moore getting the leg up it would negate the weight difference.

2.55 Wedding Ring 3/1  - has the benefit of a couple of runs already this season having ran in the Uae guineas. She also gets the filly allowances and is a course and distance winner here.

3.30 Mushir 7/2 - showed tremendous pace to come from last to first in a listed race on his last run. Showed plenty of potential in doing so and will get the extra trip. Few too many questions about the Hannon runner for me to have an interest. 

4.05 Along Again 12/1 e/w - in top hands and connections aren't the type to put one into a hot race if they don't feel they have a chance. Not much to find on Queen Catrine and nearly double the price.

4.40 Truth Or Dare 7/1 e/w - feel this horse didn't get the plaudits it deserved for a good 2 year old campaign. Best run to date was when staying on very well at this course behind Racing Post Trophy winner Kingston Hill.

5.10 Mustadaam 8/1 e/w  - definitely not the first choice for connections but it would not be the first time the "second string " won. Ran only once as a 2yo and did so with a few positives at this track. Could go well at a big price.

5.45 Ventura Mist  16/1 e/w -  ran with much promise last term. Won a listed race from Emirates Flyer who ran very well in Meydan. Resumes this year on the same mark. Ran good race over course and distance behind Fog Roll
