The best racing flat weekend is nearly upon us . The Breeders Cup returns to the incredible setting of Santa Anita . The US refer to his two days of racing as the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS and it should be as the is so many competitors from all over the world taking on the Americans in their back yard. Aidan O'Brien is still on the search for group ones to try draw level with the great Bobby Frankel's world record and he has a couple of good shouts to pick up a few more this weekend. A spanner in his chase for history could be stopped by none other than his son, Joseph , who saddles his first runner at the Breeders Cup .
Past champions are returning to try be victorious again with Wavell Avenue and Found ,who teased us with an entry for the Classic before been redirected to the Turf which she won in a battle downing the Arc winner Golden Horn . This time she returns as the Arc champion. Mick Doonan had the heads up with the switch to the turf.
There is other previous winners of different races coming to challenge in new races. Nyquist won the juvenile dirt before winning Kentucky Derby ,takes on the machine California Chrome in the Classic.
Lady Eli and Catch A Glipmse won the juvenile fillies turf in 2014 & 20115 but are now back compete in the Filly&Mares turf.
Runhappy won the sprint in 2105 and is now back to try the step up in trip in the Dirt Mile.
Two previous winners of the Juvenile fillys dirt , Beholder and SONGBIRD , clash in the big one of the night on Friday.
